Had a CT scan today to check that the blood clot in my head has gone, also to check the bones in my face. Results tomorrow.

Not a good run - worst accident per year;
2008 - break cleat 20mtrs from a standing start at the velodrome. Broken hand
2009 - break crank at 50kph on same velodrome at same place as in 2008. 5 broken ribs and punctured lung
2010 - my best year. Worst accident was running over a bike at 50kph on Dunc Grey Velodrome. Landed straight my flat spotted the front and went down. Lost bark, that's it. Could of even restarted the race on a different bike
2011 - front taken out by another rider in a crit at 58.5kph. One broken rib
2012 - loose front end at 40kph when training. Knocked out, blood clot on brain, broken skull at rear, broken face around right eye, broken collar bone, 2 broken ribs

Time to take up lawn bowls?

I redid the front of my fixie with some old Tigra leavers that no longer change gears and moved the front brake to the left hand, then I took it for a spin around the block. While I was OK riding the bike with one arm, the lean forward position crunched my core, so the verdict was I needed a more upright position and I decided that I wasn't going to easily achieve that with that bike. So I called my mate who had his old mans ebike and he brought it over and took it for a test run. The position meant that I could reach the handlebars with both hands for starting and stopping and ride with one hand. Apparently the bike is good for 30kph, but I think I'll take it a slower than that.

And I weighed myself this morning on the same scales as on Jan 9 (same day of week and time). And I've lost 2.5kg

I'm a bit puzzled by that. Yeh there can be some variation due to hydration. But I can't see that I lost that much muscle mass in the 4 weeks I've had off

You've never had much fat on you, and hydration isn't going to explain it either. That leaves loss of muscle mass as
the obvious explanation. It really is a case of use it or lose it, and the frustrating thing about your injuries is that
you've got no choice about the situation.

Recovering the muscle tone is a baitch, but at least you've had lots of practice at it in recent years. Let's hope
practice makes perfect, and you will recover even quicker than last year.

And after reading details of your injuries above, I think you could be excused for not trying to haul that ebike up the
harbour bridge steps.

And catching a cab is not chickening out. That's a strategic withdrawal.

Get well quick.

Cheers

Your activities dropped off a lot and the loss may be from a combinations of sources.
