Yes, I think I've seen that one before and if i recall the consensus was that it was nicely photoshopped :|

[edit] Yep, the real sign is shown in this news article. No text on it.
The club produced a mock-up photograph of the sign, stating: "Cyclists: Please note, you are about to ride into a pole."

There's a section of the shared use path along the river torrens in Adelaide where they have erected signs telling rider to dismount due to "gaps" in the woodwork on a bridge. I don't know what they're smoking, I couldn't see any gaps. I suspect it is there simply to cover themselves if anyone does come off as no one is going to dismount.

I pass a few cyclist dismount signs on my way to work, they are mostly on bike paths crossing site access roads. I ignore them.

Used to be one in Artarmon on a path between 2 blocks of units. There was an old lady who had nothing better to do than police the sign and tell every bike rider off that didn't dismount. Don't know how many times it was removed and put back a gain before council finally gave up and left it down.

My in-laws are in Artarmon. Funny place. Too many chicaneries and contra-flow lanes for my taste :)

Used to work in Lane Cove so know the nuts roads around there & Artarmon. Other than the great op-shops I don't miss it.
