G'day

This just shows it can be done ....
The rebirth of Scott Cutshall began Thanksgiving day 2005, a bowl of vegetable soup for breakfast kicking off a new life where nothing would be the same. Cutshall, living in Jersey City at the time, weighed 501 pounds. He was having breakfast. And then he was getting ready to go on a bike ride.

He rode 1.9 miles that day, rolling through neighborhoods, biking on the street, stopping to rest four or five times to sit on a curb. Head down. Panting. Hot even in November.

The ride of less than 2 miles took Cutshall three hours to complete. But the wheels were turning. His body was in motion. The journey had begun...

Could be worse...

Week 11 - Mon 28/4/08
Starting Weight (kg): 138.2
Today's Weight (kg): 132.9
Movement from last week (+ or - kg): -1.5kg
Target Weight (kg): 100
Total Lost (kg): 5.3kg
Distance ridden In the last week: 0km

Didn't manage to get near the bike this week, by the time the rain stopped I'd managed to pick up a cold, guessing thats going to slow me down some more next week too. I did manage to clean up the back room so I could get at the weight bench and even used it a couple of times.

Diet was pretty good, hence the weight loss even without riding.

Week #21 of cycling to lose weight.

Start - 96.0 kg
Current - 81.2
Loss this week - 0.3kg
Total Loss - 14.8 kg

Went touring with the club last weekend for a total of 220km. I only did Monday night at the Velodrome for 20km, so no other training. I think I am retaining a lot of water at the moment as my weight the morning when we left was 80.1 kg. Will be interesting to see what the result is for next week.

Total distance ridden 310 kilometres

Country Ranking 25 th up 5 position
Club Ranking 8th steady.

Still a good week, had to much drink and food for my birthday. We had the family over on Saturday. I'm 46 today 28th of April

So not gaining weight is a win.

Week 14
Well not quiet, but we are on Holidays for a week and I may not have access to Internet or scales (But I am taking the bike)

Starting weight this year 105 kilo.

Last week 97 kilos

This Week 95 kilos change -2 kilos


Total Weight loss this year -10 kilos


Target now 92 Kilos but it's a fluid target.

Total distance ridden 183 between Monday and today. Will ride Saturday and Sunday to completed weeks ridding as we a traveling to Mildura today.

Bike Journal Ranking 252 up 7 positions
Country Ranking 24 th up 1 position
Club Ranking 7th up 1 Position.

Good week not sure how much I'll get to ride next week but I hope to still do about 250k's.

Week #22 of cycling to lose weight.

Start - 96.0 kg
Current - 80.6 kg
Loss this week - 0.6 kg
Total Loss - 15.4 kg

Pretty routine week for me, 2 Velodrome sessions (45k), 1 roller session (20k), Saturday Slowies (45k) followed by racing at Heffron Park (24k) and then Sunday to Waterfall (85k). Feeling pretty fast now after a slow start to the week and made it well past the turn around at Waterfall before being dropped.

Hoping to break into 79kg this week, though no pressure really. Should probably start fixing my diet.

movement ,not much only got the scales today

been cycling since the new years resolution
Start weight was 107.5 kg

Got down to 101 kg after 12 weeks,

Stuck on this weight, must be the over indulgence in beers and wine,,no hang on, could it be that I am converting fat to solid muscle.

Target 95kg

Week #23 of cycling to lose weight.

Start - 96.0 kg
Current - 79.9 kg
Loss this week - 0.7 kg
Total Loss - 16.1 kg

Broke into 79kg this week. BMI is 23.1. I think my ideal weight will be somewhere around 72kg. Still holding the last bit of weight around my stomach - just doesn't want to disappear.

Total distance ridden 253 I made up 110k's in 2 days as my riding while on holidays was down a bit. Also ate way to much.

Well not to bad really, holidays was fun and we had a good time. Weight gain was always going to happen. All part of my new life style allowing weight gain over a short period as long as I monitor it. Go wood cutting this week so K's will be down a bit again.

Should hurt weight though as any one who as gone and collected a couple of ton's of wood in a week will know how much work it is.

Jeeze, I don't touch the bike for 2 weeks, and lose weight, get a decent number of miles in and put some back on.

I have been eating bad and lots for 3 or 4 weeks now so it is lucky my scales are in a container ship somewhere in the southern hemisphere now!... hopefully in the 8-9 weeks everything takes to get here I will be able to weigh myself and smile!!!! because at the moment I am sure to be back over 101!.
