Have you tried Excel? It has a nice random number generator.europa wrote:Andrew, I'm feeling tired at the moment so rather than ride my bike, could you post me a copy of the program you use to randomly generate and upload rides onto the site?

Ditto here. It's yet another gadget too. That's two big thumbs up.europa wrote:I am really starting to hate Garmin. With all these graphs appearing, I can see myself buying one of the rotten things, because the output is so damned neat

You will need a Mac too I think. IIRC Bnej is using a real cool program called Ascent which is Mac only.europa wrote:I am really starting to hate Garmin. With all these graphs appearing, I can see myself buying one of the rotten things, because the output is so damned neat

You can get a similar graph out of Garmin Training Centre on PC, just not quite as pretty.Aushiker wrote:You will need a Mac too I think. IIRC Bnej is using a real cool program called Ascent which is Mac only.
Bummer about having a real heart condition, but good that you found out about it early and could get it sorted the least invasive way. Take it a bit easy when they do let you out, my Dad went back to work right away and was back in hospital two days later.

Maybe Motionbased does something better in its free mode. Will need to take a look.Bnej wrote:You can get a similar graph out of Garmin Training Centre on PC, just not quite as pretty.

Had my biggest week and biggest single day so far this week. Did the 90km Portfolio Partners Bris to GC ride yesterday, and although it wasn't my biggest single ride, after the 17km ride home it ended up being the most km's I've travelled in a day. 107.24km was 3.44km longer than my previous best.
And after my club race this morning I managed to rack up a total of 271.43 for the week, 14.83km more than my best which I did at the end of September.
Now If I can just keep these numbers up for the next few weeks

Low and behold the menu's are back on Bike journal for me this morning . Didn't get a return email so I don't know if this was a coincidence or they physically fixed it
Anyway, I'm off to log a couple of rides, including my century in 3:42 on Saturday morning. Really happy with that time considering I did an extra long, and extra slow warm up due to a change in bike position after a fitting last weekend. Still a couple of minutes shy of Kev's time, I must try planning to beat his time rather than deciding to have a go an hour in to the ride
Cheers,
Neil

Does the garmin output a file of points that can be read by another program? So if you don't have a Mac, then you could upload it to a web server and have the graph drawn for you.Aushiker wrote:You will need a Mac too I think. Also are the graphs that are drawn by Ascent able to be set to a certain size?
I may have to invest in one of these units soon

Good onya Lukas....Looks like you already have moved up from 22nd to 19th. Don't worry too much, we've only been using bike journal for a month or so ourselves. Some of us have added our rides so far this year, others haven't added all of them.lukas wrote:Hi ya'll.. I've been using bikejournal for the last month.
I've just moved my rides to the Bicycling Network club. Same username as in here .. Lukas.
I look forward to moving up from my lowly 22nd position!
