We rode the Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Padstow in July 2016.

In Toronto a few months ago. I loved the cycleway into the city around the lake and that cars had to give way to bikes rather than the other way around.

I think I've seen one occasion of it here in Sydney so perhaps we're on the right path.

Saw a few of these west of Auckland.



I can think of a few spots where local councils could copy that with good effect.

Plenty of other goodies there too.

I've ridden past those ones too, they are good signs. If that's the same one its on the Scenic Drive somewhere near the southern end

that's Newtown if I'm correct. There's a reason for that

I've had a motorist drive half in that bike lane and half in the car lane to overtake a cyclist travelling in the direction of your photo. He was coming straight towards me and didn't look like he was going to stop. I stopped, screamed at him, picked up my water bottle and held it above my shoulder. There was nowhere for me to go, if he didn't stop I was done. He stopped and I asked him why he was driving in the bike lane and he said to overtake the cyclist. I pointed out the inadequacies of his actions... you know how it goes. MGIF

while its 100% the motorists fault, if the cyclist had used the full lane there wouldn't of been sufficient space for the stupid overtake attempt

pretty sure you know to never underestimate the ability of some drivers to attempt an overtake against all odds

...also I like (lots) - never seen one in Aus' used at some but not enough roadworks (construction) with narrow lanes in UK

Yes that's correct it's Newtown, were the concrete dividers there when that happened?

Yes, but at that time the concrete dividers were curved on top and have since been replaced with the square ones

That one was spotted in the CBD in a very odd location - on a footpath unlikely to be seen by anyone in a car next to an intersection where there is no real place for passengers to alight about 10m upstream from where I was doored a year or two back.

I'm not normally a fan of bicycles banned signs, but today I will let this one slide
