Only 2 problems (1) the easy performance upgrade for a ride on mower is to remove both drive & blade belts & fit a larger drive belt that runs off the blade cog - I easily won a lawn mower race with this subtle mod (2) its still a motor vehicle, which means he can look forward to adding driving unregistered & unlicenced to his list of offences, both of which will extend the period of disqualification.PA wrote:Friend told me he used to work with a person who lost his licence so he got a ride on mower, fitted a more powerful engine to it and drove that to work.

Charges for disqualified driver who allegedly used mobility scooter to tow boathuman909 wrote:(I'm sure the police will try to pin something on him and probably succeed.
Should have registered that trailer. The rest sound "arguable" (read the rest of the article)ABC News wrote: The 35-year-old now faces charges of driving whilst disqualified, using an unregistered vehicle on the road, using an uninsured vehicle on the road, and using an unregistered trailer on the road.
At the time of the incident the man told the media he had wanted to go fishing, but could not drive a car, because he had lost his licence

If you care to go to the Melbourne CBD you can see plenty of those Asian delivery electric cycles zooming up hills in excess of 25kmh - without pedaling.RetroPilot wrote:I'd like to see what grade of hill it can manage 20kmh on..

Yep, these are what I think of when people discuss e-bikes. Came out of 600 Bourke, almost got mowed down by a kamikaze pizza boy on his silent whatever it was..Ivanerrol wrote:If you care to go to the Melbourne CBD you can see plenty of those Asian delivery electric cycles zooming up hills in excess of 25kmh - without pedaling.RetroPilot wrote:I'd like to see what grade of hill it can manage 20kmh on..

I'm going to do the legitimate thing and wait for them to come up for sale. What ever happened to the obikes? I really wanted to grab 4 and make a franken car bike for kicks.10speedsemiracer wrote:Wondering how long it will be until these get cannibalized and chopped up for their driveline...

Putting the "Blimey!" into Lime scooters?
Electric scooter share system due to be rolled out in Brisbane, to the accolade of state and local pollies ... only catch is that using them on the road or footpath could make you liable for a $250-$10 000 fine.

Or completely homebuilt a trailer specifically for his mobility scooter!Thoglette wrote:Should have registered that trailer. The rest sound "arguable" (read the rest of the article)
I hadn't gone through NSW initially but here is the relevenet bit:
trailer means a vehicle that:
(a) is built to be towed, or is towed, by a motor vehicle, and
(b) is not capable of being propelled in the course of normal use on roads or road
related areas without being towed by a motor vehicle, whether or not its movement is aided by some other power source
So trailers purpose built for mobility scooters, or bicycles, or horses are fine....

There's a couple of O Bikes in the Moonee Ponds Creek downstream from Macaulay Road. I noticed someone had fished them out last week.10speedsemiracer wrote:Think most of them are in various tips..Calvin27 wrote:I'm going to do the legitimate thing and wait for them to come up for sale.
