Cycling in western Sydney.

Anyone have any ideas. I usually do the M7 shared path but getting bored of it. Any ideas. Wanting about 50k.

Try Liverpool - HoxtonPark rd - Cowpasture rd - Camden valley way - Narellan Rd - Botanic garden - MacArthur Station

This is the route, but I rode from Lakemba, Just see when it starts at Liverpool

You could also do this from M7 exits at Hoxton park rd or Leppington

Want more thrill : From the botanic garden, go to M31 then to M5 (Highway shoulder bike lanes), then exit near padstow or Riverwood station to take you back

You could ride out on the Cooks River path by going this way:

I don't know where you start from, but I just put that route together to show you a fairly good safe way to get out to the Cooks River path. Then you can get out near the airport to the spotting area, or stop by the McDonalds for a coffee. It's not a very fast ride, lots of slow corners and stop start. Ignore the stupid glitch over the railway line at Guildford, you just go straight across that bridge and turn right.

If you start at the Old Windsor Rd end of the M7 path you can head out to Windsor and back for around 50k. Shared path all the way or a nice wide breakdown lane for most of the way apart from the section near Rouse Hill Town Centre.

Or, same start place and take the M7 to Richmond Rd and then head to Windsor and come home Windsor Rd. But you are on the road from just past Marsden Park to Windsor but still pretty good riding, just one narrow bridge. And if you go all the way to Richmond you will get close to 60k.
Either way, expect some attention from the magpie at Norwest, he is a mean one.

The NWSCC ride in the north west. Meets at the Local shed in Rouse Hill Saturdays for a 615 departure. Depending on you group experience there is the Novi ride stating a little later . Once you are group wise. there are 26 / 28 / 30 and faster groupies all doing different routes

You can peel off and head to the reservoir and then through Merrylands / Parramatta / Ryde.
Or take Elizabeth Dr and take the Orphan creek path through Canley Vale etc

They never turned up for the novice ride so have left that club. Did the m7 bubbler run. Very disappointed

The ride went ahead. We had about 6 groups head out - probably 80+ rides over different speeds. I checked and the Novi's left about 0644 from the "local Shed cafe " meeting in their carpark at Rouse Hill.

The M7 cycle path has many exits to local suburbs and their shared paths. How about just taking one of these paths and see where you end up. Half of the fun is discovering new cycle routes.
