Riding from Birdsville to Windorah
Postby ldrcycles » Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:07 pm
I know there's a few on here who have done trips like the Birdsville track, but I'm wondering if there's anyone who's ridden between Birdsville and Windorah? There's about 170k still unsealed, and while I've found a few accounts from grey nomads I haven't seen any reports by riders, and as I've found the hard way, driving a road can give a very different impression to doing it under your own power. The question is whether a road bike with 28mm tyres is sufficient, or if I'll have to go to CX or even 29er. Obviously if there's rain things can change very quickly.
