For 83km, it'll be about 4 hours of riding + the brekkie stop. It'll prob be about 12 when we get back at earliest.

Just ride/train it over. It'll be cold regardless.

Regrettably my leave pass has been reduced, so I while I will be at parra park (AT) 7 am, I will have to cut and run before Windsor.

Regarding the route, for me it is just lines on a map that are alleged to be bike routes - while I have ridden Windsor Road & around prospect, I have not ridden Richmond Road & we may want to consider the advice on the thread Quang linked to.

I am happy to go back via Old Windsor Rd too. Safer imo.

I'm out. I'll send Rheicel my details so he can pick up the stickers. I was really looking forward to this ride now that I don't have soccer duty with my son.

BTW, for October, the retro ride may want to head to SOP for the festival of cycling where they'll have the Australian leg of the Brompton World Cup.

Thanks for the ride today, I had lots of fun. I bonked at the last 5km and stopped to get a chocolate-chip muffin. I ended up sort of avoiding the rain while i was eating it as well. :)

Thanks for the ride everyone, I really enjoyed it. Special thanks to Rheicel and Hergest - my awesome pit crew who changed my tube after I got a puncture in about 3 minutes! I felt like an F1 driver, not having to fix my own puncture for a change lol! I ended up doing just over 110kms with the last 20kms in the rain. I was drenched by the time I got home.

As per the discussion I had with Rheicel and Hergest, I have created another thread for non-retro rides which you can find here

Yes, that was excellent. I too got caught in the rain for the last half hour or so but my nice warm bath has done me the world of good. Thanks to those who organised.

Thanks guys for a great ride. It was pleasure meeting you all and I hope to do more of these rides but probably leave the car at home :-).

Yeah I got caught in the rain at about Guildford onward towards home, so my freshly cleaned+polished Pug is no longer so
My apologies again for rocking up late and subsequently going real slow - it was probably the toughest mental ride I've done in recent times. De-training effect at its worst

Good pies tho

Guys - March 14 next year is a Saturday. I suggest you set that aside as Retro Ride Pi Day (3 14). Of course, that's the American date system, but there's no 31st of April.

Hi applio, it would be great to have you along. Ride length varies - anywhere between 40 - 100 km, depending on the enthusiasm of whoever decides the route.

Probably about time to do a shorter ride for September
