Hi Mods, did a search on the above but all results came up with the 2013 ride.

Recently signed up for this one.
150km from Pakenham.
Seems to be getting bigger each year, and as I rarely manage to get on rides that are'nt local (missus needs the car) Thought I'd get in early.
Hopefully someone from down my way is going and I can hitch a lift.
I'm in Mount Martha near Mornington.
Any advice? Done a few 150+ rides and it will be nice to see some other roads for a change.
Cheers,
Cam

As far as the ride is concerned it is brilliant. Fantastic organisation, fantastic cause. I must say I didn't do it last year but did it the year before and the course was spectacular. Hopefully I will be there again this year. Some of the best scenery I've come across. About 300-400 riders, and you can do either 50, 100 or 150 - just decide on the day, they aren't precious at all. It is a really comfortable number of people, unlike the chaos of ATB.
If you are after training tips - just ride more. It isn't a race.

What are the rules in terms of how much money you have to raise? Can you just pay entry fees/jersey whatever and not fundraise?

Cam - there is a Mornington group that heads across - they have hairy legs.
Kiante - as far as I'm aware you raise and contribute whatever you raise - there are no minimum requirements.
This is a great ride in glorious country.
Cheers

Yes, definitely. They would like you raise money but absolutely no pressure and no rules (Peter Mac ride take note!!!).Kiante wrote:What are the rules in terms of how much money you have to raise? Can you just pay entry fees/jersey whatever and not fundraise?
Pay your entry fee early for a small discount or pay on the day - you can pick your distance on the day too, depending on how you feel. The entry fee is the same for all distances.
Just do it!

I did this last year and apart from the appalling weather it was a good ride. It's relatively cheap, the proceeds go to charity and it was well organised. I think I'll do it this year and hope that it's dry and not windy like last year.
