Genovese Kinglake Ride 2014

Postby marty_one » Tue Jul 22, 2014 2:15 pm

It's finally been announced, and timed rather wierdly to be exactly 4 months until the ride. I just hope the weather is as nice as it was last year.

22nd November.

Glad to hear it, this was on my to do list for this year and given the lack of any news from the organisers I had assumed it was not happening.

This is also the day before the River and Ranges Winery ride with the Orica-GreenEdge crew.

Has anyone been able to enter this ride? I've lost the email I received from the organisers and the website shows no indication that the event is actually happening. I'm starting to think I imagined it.

I noticed the same thing the other week. I think the original email was a mistake and someone entered in the date incorrectly on their CMS. I was a little surprised with the date chosen though as it was not the last weekend of November (which I think I read somewhere as being the new date from last year onwards). So I am expecting the re-announcement somewhere around the 29th of this month. This would put it 3 months exactly until the event.

No King Lake ride this year... :(

I noticed it was taken off the calender so I contacted them..

"Unfortunately due to competing cycling events round that weekend, and decreased entries last year, there will be no King Lake Ride in 2014"

Damn!

On the 15th November there is the Bass Coast Challenge. Starts and Finishes in Inverloch, online registration is open. As mentioned before there is the River and Ranges Winery Ride on the 23rd November.

Then there is the Wiggle Cycling events:

Well....I just found out this afternoon. The "due to a clash of events" the Kinglake cycling event will not be run this year. I a little peeved to say the least, as I was really looking forwards to actually completing the 115km route, the run from Flowerdale down back into Whittlesea was probably the best part of the ride.
