Anyone living in Town of Cambridge - please fill in survey to improve bike paths

Postby joelireland » Mon Oct 17, 2016 1:01 pm

Town of Cambridge residents (City Beach, Floreat, Wembley, West Leederville, and parts of Jolimont, Mount Claremont, Daglish and Wembley Downs) are encouraged to fill in this survey to enbable ToC to plan on improving their bicycle paths/lanes etc. It actually seems quite a well focussed survey. If you live there, please take 5 mins to help out and improve the roads/paths etc.

Town of Cambridge wrote: Ideas welcome for Bike Path Plan
Closing date for this notice: 02 November 2016

Cambridge residents and cyclists who travel along the Town's bike paths are invited to complete a survey that will inform a review of our bike path network.

Whether you're a commuter cyclist or just ride for pleasure we would like to hear your ideas to improve our bike paths. And for the non-cyclists we would like to know if there's any improvements we can make that would encourage you to take up cycling.

The Town has commissioned infrastructure specialists, Cardno, to review our current bike network and, with community input, develop a plan that recommends improvements to the existing network and identifies areas where the network could be expanded to meet cyclist needs.

The survey is a chance for you to tell us about your riding habits, what you like about the route you ride, what you don't like about it, and ideas to improve your cycling experience.

To support the survey, an informal information session will be held at the Town's Administration from 5.30pm to 7pm Wednesday, 26 October, where you can drop in to learn more about the Bike Network Plan and share your concerns and improvement ideas.

If you would like to attend please contact Kobi Ging on 9347 6067 or email kging@cambridge.wa.gov.au

Complete the Cambridge Bike Plan Survey online.

Printed surveys are available from the Town's Administration Centre, Cambridge Library, Bold Park Aquatic and the Wembley Community Centre.

The Bike Plan survey is open until 5pm Wednesday, 2 November 2016.

Just done the survey. It's full of open-ended questions, which is a good (if rare) thing.

It's focused on major road routes rather than usage styles, destinations or vulnerable users. But anyone who commutes through Cambridge (including West Coast Hwy and the PSP by Lake Monger) will want to add their 2c worth.

Done, good survey it was actually after user experiences over common used routes rather than prescribed routes.
Better than the usual window dressing surveys that are usually posted.
