so true. . . perfect* conditions, I made the most of it.

*if you are appropriately attired.

I even busted out the long leg knicks today and the SOLO merino jacket.

Haven't ridden in two months, had forgotten just how cold it is south of the hill between Thomas and Anketell. Had to have been near 0C when I left home this morning, felt like a heatwave when I hit 4C on the north side of the hill. But that first 10-15 minutes was painful, was wondering what the hell I was thinking. :)

Was pretty nice out though once the sun came up, especially since I kept the speed low enough I didn't break out in a sweat with all the layers on. Need to get myself some of those photochromatic glasses though

The radio tells me that Jandakot was 0.4C this morning.

Felt fine to me, it just means that I felt less clammy under the spray jacket.

My ears and fingers will agree with that. Very frosty.
Warmed up a little then back down to 0 in Kings Park.

Can't remember having so many layers on at once.

Stupidly cold this morning. Kudos to those who jumped on their bikes - I had an easier time leaving at 9am when the sun was out.

Really nice this morning, glassy river full of dolphins and hardly any traffic on the bike path.

it really is a spectacle to behold on days like this. How lucky are we that we can ride longside such an awesome vista.

I can not remember such a long period of northerlies. As one who heads north in the afternoon, come back Doctor - I miss you :D (not sure those running south will agree though!)

Lovely morning again, cool but not too cold. I'm quite enjoying riding in the semi-darkness at 6:45am, at least I know my multitude of flashing lights will be nice and visible.

Got my first wet sandy butt on the ride home, might need to invest in some mud guards!

Rain is always fun when you wear glasses.

unlikely to need more than an "ass saver" in Perth, keeps the worst off on the rare wet days

2 nights in a row it has rained on me on the commute home.
I think it is a sign to stop working late...

It only rains 3 days a year in Perth so why worry plus it's only sand and not clay/mud. A quick rinse down of the bike and off you go.

Yeah after wiping down the bike (and my wet sandy arse which my kids thought was hilarious) I think I've talked myself out of it

I'm enjoying my mudguards. Not often that you really get rained on properly in Perth, but wet sandy paths are not so uncommon, and with the mudguards you can stay completely dry if its not actually raining.
