I am wussing out.
Haha! I ended up wussing out of wussing out. No issues riding home on Friday arvo, just a very light drizzle.

Perfect ride in this morning.

Having decided to ride in, in the rain this morning, I was a bit disappointed when it stopped raining 2 minutes into my ride. Still a nice ride with less traffic on the path than usual, and it was actually nice not getting too wet.

Had today off, was looking forward to a morning ride.

Got woken up before my alarm to the sound of rain. Decided to sleep in instead :(

It poured for about 40 of my 55mins this morning. Rain jacket and shoes covers were redundant after less than 10kms. I got soaked. But it wasn't cold, the wind was ok and the paths were empty, still much better than sitting in the worse than normal traffic on the freeway or the trains which were running late. Stuff will be mostly dry for the ride home and it's sunny now

Soaked this morning, forgot to pack the spare socks. Bah.
Still, wasn't freezing rain so was rather nice.

Unfortunately, the risks of car-bike interactions increase as nobody expects to see someone riding a bike in the rain, so they pay even less attention than normal.

Had just "winterised" the commuter bike on the weekend so was fine yesterday.
Mudguards (front & rear) and Ay-Ups from road bike to commuter as I was outriding my other lights.
Quite dark at 5.15 each morning these days.

Did seem to be lots out today, I assumed it was all the people who stayed home in the rain yesterday making up for it today, but maybe the breakfast was part of it too.

You obviously weren't heading South, SW or Westerly then. That wind was nasty heading from Canning bridge to fremantle after having done 50km already.

There was a bit of fog about as I headed from the CBD out to Mt Helena to do the Heritage Trail and return (100km all up - nice loop!). I didn't realise what the wind was like until I got back to Bellevue...ugh!

The temperature was spot on at least :-)

South into the city from Alexander Heights wasnt that bad at about 6am, I did enjoy the SW though from North Freo back home :D

I think the winds mustve picked up later in the morning?

and today I rode to Busselton (about 250km for non uu ay players). I do recall some wind. My legs on the other are screaming about it.

Was reasonably chilly out there this morning...
A seemingly massive difference in just the last couple of weeks.

Still windy, too.

Perfect temperature, slight chill heading off the driveway, 5mins later all forgotten about and very little sweat from then onwards.

15 to 10 degrees - baselayer or long sleeves, 10 to 5 - thrown in the long pants, under 5 extra layer on top plus shoe covers. Treat as one stage lower temp if it's wet

+1. I prefer feeling cold for the first half hour riding in rather than getting hot and sweaty under extra layers as the sun comes up for the last 40 minutes. Extra layers means carrying stuff home in my back pack in the afternoon. So I will persevere for a few more weeks. Probably my first move will be to swap from knicks to three quarters as I suffer with my knees.
