No KOMs but heap of top 10's- was a load of fun when a tailwind- cross wind was lethal- rain was like bullets- held back a fair bit due to traffic and lack of braking capability.archetuthus wrote:if your going the right direction i see a few koms going with this wind. stay safe out there.

Was fine this morning from Karrinyup Road southworzel wrote:To anyone that rode in this morning - what was the debris like on the PSP (Mitchell in particular)? I am wondering what might be lurking when I ride in before dawn tomorrow as there was plenty of stuff on the roads this morning.

Lots of broken branches and a couple of trees down on the PSP near Edgewater this morning, but the worst of it had been cleared by the time I rode home this afternoon.worzel wrote:To anyone that rode in this morning - what was the debris like on the PSP (Mitchell in particular)? Also haeded north along Alexander drive yesterday afternoon. Felt like superman, so easy to do 40+.tallywhacker wrote:well, it certainly was challenging on the way home. Took to the footpath along Alexander Drive, with a gusty wind on the left it was the safer choice since I am going overseas in less time than a break takes to heal (yes, I have gone os with partially healed breaks on several occasions).
Had to do a little into the wind, lucky to get to 15km. Lots of debris on the psp alongside kwinana freeway.

Had to stop yesterday riding between cockburn central and murdoch to move a big branch blocking half the psp. Lots of small debris as well.worzel wrote:To anyone that rode in this morning - what was the debris like on the PSP (Mitchell in particular)? Thanks. Yes Edgewater was defo the worst stretch this morning though there was plenty of weaving in other stretches.Chef wrote:Lots of broken branches and a couple of trees down on the PSP near Edgewater this morning, but the worst of it had been cleared by the time I rode home this afternoon.worzel wrote:To anyone that rode in this morning - what was the debris like on the PSP (Mitchell in particular)? While the last couple of wet days have kept the paths empty, the cold does not seem to hodl the same fear. Many more riders and others out and abuot this morning.

I have to agree, not sure what is worse, having icicle hands or a waterlog bike.ColinOldnCranky wrote:Not quite as cold at my atartign end as it was a coupleof weeks ago. But still cold enough for a little ice, one patch of which I found the wheel sliding out front from a gentle touch on the brakes. I think that's a first for me.

I may even go as far as to say the rain is the lesser of to evils as long as it is not hammering down continously. The cold just gets to your extremities.
The worse thing about the rain or water on the path is the bike gets a hammering, all the debris, sand and muck going thru all the moving parts!
Why I have a dedicated rain bike.
