Dear Dolphin Watcher,
We regret to advise you that a deceased dolphin calf has been retrieved from the Milyu Marine Park in South Perth.
Murdoch University has identified the mother of the deceased calf as Tupac, the mother of Gizmo.
The cause of death is not known and the Trust is unable to confirm whether or not Tupac’s calf is the same dead dolphin that was seen in Challenger Harbour, Fremantle earlier this week.
Please report river incidents to the Trust on 9278 0900 or after hours on 0419 192 845.
Sick, injured or orphaned native animals, including dolphins can be reported to the Trust, or directly to the Department of Parks and Wildlife on the 24 hour WILDCARE Helpline on 9474 9055.
Thanks for your continuing and important contribution to the Dolphin Watch project.

Yesterday a rabbit scampered across my path in Bateman on the short access path onto the PSP.
I reckon that I only see a rabbit about every couple of years. Which is a good thing.

The hook was at eye level so I felt compelled to take him down.

Also, be aware of a stupid Galah flying around Perth. I met him near the Windan Bridge when he realised I was in his flight path and his avoidance technique (which needed work btw) resulted in me copping a Galah to the side of the head. Luckily he was pulling up so it wasn't at full tilt, but was unexpected.

It was across the trail as I came round the corner. I had a Say What moment and stopped while it scuttle up the tree next to the trail (pictured)
It was quite big by pommie standards. Shoulder to hip was about 1ft (30cm)
Anyone know what it is?
