I am pretty keen to see the full hike map though.
Same here ... past entry fees without a jersey where not much less either.

From the Bike Hike for Asthma Facebook page

Full Hike route heading 30km North along the freeway, followed by a 20km loop before the 30km return on freeway South. The loop, strict cut-off times and safety vehicles will ensure that the course is completely clear for all return riders. This improved Full Hike course also means riders can access the start location easier and later in morning. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you there in support of the Asthma Foundation WA.

They make a big deal about safety on the website, but the main image for the full hike is a guy riding a track bike on the road with no brakes!

      that is too funny.

I feel this even is getting more strict with requirements, even the full hike specifically is for experience riders. I believe the biggest donation proportion comes from non-experience riders, people who ride for the sake of having fun and laughing with friends.

They limit who can do what, increase the price, and yet I still join

$100 for the full hike, bugger that. I'd love to see what would happen if you rode down one of the closed exits and jumped in ninja style.

Fair call.

Guess I get a bit fired up without thinking.

Will probably still do the 80km.

I haven't checked the website to see if this info is general issue yet, but I have just been advised that corporate teams may register their outfits and these will then be OK to use.

Course maps are up. Full hike goes from the city to Currambine then a loop to Butler and back to freeway.

Oh, and the track bike is gone!

So there's a McDonald's at the halfway point (Corner Lukin Drive and Connolly Drive) coincidence, conspiracy or corporate sponsorship? :D

Anyone else spot the cyclist this morning on the Mitchell Fway heading north between Whitfords and Ocean Reef? Must have thought the Freeway Bike Hike ride was on today. For reference, it is on next week (23rd March 2014).

No got one mate coming with me but I will lose him along the way our average speeds are a little different. Planing to ride down from Woodvale to the start.

Ended up getting free entry to the 80km via a team entry with a friend.

Should be an easy ride. The real challenge will be getting out of bed in time.

Was going to give it a miss this year after doing it the last four years, but starting to rethink!

What route are you planning to get there?

I have the 5 dams in a couple of weeks so I thought this would get a few more k's up, ride down, do the ride then ride home!

You must be heaps fitter than me then if you are doing the 5 dams. What do you reckon your average speed will be for the freeway ride?

Fitter or Stupid.......not sure but the latter is looking good

With the freeway ride more a case of staying out of danger! In the mid 30's would be nice though.

Sorry Magnum I missed your question in your previous post re what route we will take to get there, we will follow the freeway path down and possibly the coast on the way back.

Anyone else think the ride jersey is a bit El cheapo? Picked mine up today and the sizing was a bit off, thankfully I was able to swap. Looking forward to Sunday though hopefully the wind settles down.

The jerseys have always been crap, last year the sizing was out by at least 2 sizes.
