James St is pretty dodgy IMO and the footpath is not really a PSP.

Over the next six months or so the path to the Guildford Bridge should get cleaned up, with a bit of luckHugor wrote:So where does it go after this? Does it take you to the old path across Guildford bridge?

Memory?! It's still so raw I haven't even fixed that second puncture!! I cheated and swapped to a different wheel set. Now that is lazy!!rolandp wrote:But Moo, you wouldn't have this memory which will last you for the rest of your life.

Agree with all here though; it's a lovely path. Just not long enough

The connection with Midland is still patchy. I cross the train lines at Success Hill overpass and then the Swann bridge. It would be great if they just fixed some rafters next to the train line so you could cycle straight across the river.
Through Guildford is OK, but the Great Eastern to Midland is a bit iffy. Today two cars decided that they could overtake me without changing lanes. That was pretty close in both cases.
It seems to be in the planning to make a new shared path between Guildford and Midland, but with the budget problems the government will face the coming years, it might take a while.

I noticed today that there is a sign stating 5km to midland just before the Lord St underpass.
What happens after Guildford?
Are you on a cycle lane on the Great Eastern or footpath or what?
This would be a great way to get to the hills.

At this stage your best getting off the PSP at lord street, as its really sightseeing footpath from lord to the guildford bridge. From Guildford bridge you can if you try very hard get to Midland on footpaths but no use for roadies etc.Hugor wrote:This new path is brilliant.
