I've got a September 2000 Mundaring Loop Trail Bikewest Mountain Bike map. The trail goes from the hills forest discovery centre to Mundaring town following Mundaring Weir Road then loops as a trail to the west of this, returning to hills forest discovery centre. I rode the eastern section today both ways, it is marked as either/both the Kep Track and the MundaBiddi Trail.
I've looked online for an update of the Mundaring Loop Trail Bikewest Mountain Bike map, couldn't find one. The starting point of the map I've got is now incorrect, better to start/finish at south-east of Fred Jacoby Park.
Is the western trail of the loop still open and marked? Or has it fell into disrepair or been closed off? Thanks

The Loop route was closed a few years ago, the western side started off from the Heritage Trail about a km west of the Sculpture Park and near the closed off rubbish tip, popped onto a road for a bit then went down a rough and loose track next to a barbed wire fence before becoming very rough and rutted, then you hit a heartbreak hill sort of climb before a descent to the Weir Rd near the roundabout at the bottom. If you know the route you can still follow it but take care, over time it just got too rough for most tourists. Sensible to close it, as in remove all the signage and tree markers. The eastern side of the route, the Kep Track, is fine.

Most of it is still ridable but its pretty rough in places. There's no signage and lots of trails in the area (mostly motocross and 4WD) that will lead you in the wrong direction. Best option is to follow someone who knows the trail. Despite doing it many times I still need to use my garmin navigation to remember which trail to take.
Here is the strava segment of the track your after if that helps:

Mmm, pity. saw the heartbreak hill on the elevation profile. So I'll post another question in WA board index re rail service roads.
