Best Bike Friendly Cafe's in Perth?
Postby Downhill » Wed Sep 24, 2014 12:05 am
So which are the best bike friendly cafes in Perth? In my opinion the Pickled Fig (South Freo), Tranby Tea rooms (Maylands), Sticky Beaks (Kings Park) and Leapfrogs (Joondalup) would have to be fairly high on the list. Any others?

+1 Pickled Fig. Great place to stop. The smoothies are top notch.
Sassy's also does a mean smoothie and hearty breakfast.
The Junction Ice Creamery in Midland is a cooling stop after a hot day in the hills.
Zamia Cafe in Kings Park has a good smoothie list.
Zephyr's on the river in East Fremantle is just a great location more than anything, the grub is pretty good too.
Kettle Cafe near Lathlain Park is friendly and has charm.

I noticed in France and Italy that drinks are ranked according to price thus:hooman wrote:Just spent 10 days cycling around the Piednomt region of Northern Italy. The most expensive coffee I had was $1.50!!! Bloody marvelous tasting coffee with a "prego" and a smile!
Just putting it out there!
- Most expensive - Coke Zero
- then beer
- then water
- then wine

Also - where is the famous Sassy's located? I've read so many mentions of it on this forum over the years, I feel I need to try it! (Mind you, it's mostly Colin who mentions it!!)

Iv previously found a cafe in North Perth pretty good, and very cycle friendly.
Its on Hobart St, I think... Dont know the name though.
Atomic in South Perth has always been pretty good, too.
And there is one just toward the bottom of Mount St near the freeway overpass bridge that is good if you've been doing some Kings Park stuff before work.

Great tip, thank you! Haven't got there myself but passed your recommendation to other parents in the group and they came back raving about it.Robinho wrote:Brushfoot cafe just off Russell road in success is nice, do a mean breakfast
Such a shame - we have been here since Sat arvo and have just seen the lacrosse pitch, Murdoch Uni Village where we are staying and the points in between!
The only other spot we have been to was a brief late afternoon trip to Fremantle. I saw what looked like an interesting bike shop opposite a car park there but didn't get inside.
The tournament finishes tomorrow and our boys are in the grand final.... Then we fly out Sunday morning - Sassy's will have to wait!

I have been there a number of times for coffee after a couple of pre-work KP loops this year (mostly through winter), so it's most definitely still open...Red Rider wrote:I thought that closed years ago?? I used to go there post Jacob's Ladder workout.
I have however, only used it this year - So I am unsure as to whether it closed and re-opened or is under new management or whatever.
I can't think of the name of it... So I hope we are talking about the same place.
It does only open at 7am on weekdays though, for those that start work really early (might miss it?!).
