What's going on with drivers here? Last week I was in Welshpool Rd by that same time. It is always busy with cyclist on a Saturday morning.

My condolences to the poor cyclist.
It’s a terrible thing to run someone over and then drive off like that. It is just pure negligent culpable driving.
Just goes to show that the wrong motorist behind you will take a life with impunity.
I reckon there is no malice in it, but no concern either. Every day we read of single car fatalities, and they would have to be accidental, as otherwise why do it? No rhyme or reason other than blind selfish stupidity. It’s hard to legislate against stupidity.
They look down the barrel to see why the gun didn’t fire and pull the trigger to do a test, they ride a train and balance by hanging onto the 200.000 volts above them.
Some of us are unlucky enough to get an idiot like that behind us in a motor car.

Had one of those moments this morning when I saw the photos and noted that Katey is the person I have said hello to on several occasions as she works in the same building as me. This coupled with a mate being knocked off his bike recently (cuts and scrapes but otherwise okay) things are getting a bit too close and personal.

Full condolences to all involved and hope that the driver gets more than a slap on the wrist- as much for the cowardly act of not stopping as for the incident itself.

My heart goes out to the family.

I just cannot comprehend leaving somebody like that. How many people do I pass in the street each day that are capable of it?! Ugh :'(

My brother in law knew of the guy who was murdered ( and yes im going to use that term, a hit and run in my eyes is exactly that), and regularly rides through that intersection as his work is just up the road. Understandably he's a bit shaken by it, and my sister isn't overly keen for him to ride that way anymore. Hope the police and the courts throw the book at the coward
