Just carnage on our roads at the moment. Its certainly affected my willingness to head out.
I don't know what its going to take for the state govt to make a move.

What's going on in WA? I thought Tassie was bad, but it seems like every time I look at my Facebook page or news it's another WA cyclist. I thought you guys were a chilled bunch over there?

There is a strong anti-cycling culture at the moment. It is not helped by our premier who has voiced many anti-cycling opinions in popular press.

He gave the ok for a multi million dollar campaign to bait our beaches after 11 fatal shark attacks since 2000.
This was considered unacceptable.
There have been 8 cycling fatalities on our roads this year and 2 in the last month, yet his response is that cyclists should ride single file.

He's an idiot.

IMO cars just need a steering wheel, gearstick, and pushbutton radio  . There are just to many distractions in the modern car. A lot of drivers struggle with the basics let alone looking at sat/nav screens, fumbling around looking for handsfree buttons etc etc. Spent 10 days in Vietnam last year and the traffic was 'mad' but i felt safe and did not see 1 car/bike crash as everyone has there eyes on the road

I blame all the expats; eastern staters and international ones ;)

Apparently Bianca used to head out with the Malaga Cycles Group (who I am a regular with), bugger.

Hope Bianca recovers from this.

made contact with Bianca over the weekend. She is very tender and sore at the moment, to be expected. No serious or permanent injuries which is good. Has a half marathon in 7 weeks which is her next goal. Wish her luck :D
