Multiple cyclist collision Leederville PSP

Postby CXCommuter » Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:01 pm

Saw a crash this morning along the Mitchell Freeway PSP. Three cyclists overtaking a slower cyclist when the front cyclist crashed for no apparent reason. The two cyclists behind who were following then crashed into and over the crashed cyclist and bike. Injuries appeared to be limited to cuts and scrapes (one guy had a bleeding chin). I was following about 50m back when it all occurred.

This is precisely why I get narky when I've got unknown people drafting behind me. Yet people get upset when I ask them to either pass me or drop back a few lengths.

Plus the PSP is slippery at the moment with all the holiday leaf litter. The pile in the James St underpass of death is growing bigger each day.

I also fear it is alive- if you fell in it you would never be seen again

Possibly a bit more obscure, but ol' Gina also reminds me of the character Ma Gorg from "Fraggle Rock" and also to some extent the sentient trash heap "Marjory" from the Gorg garden, whom the Fraggles visit as a sort of Oracle.

Maybe I am painting her in too cutsie a light but perhaps it's more her fashion sense rather than personality I am thinking of.

Anyway, for memory jogging purposes:

Ma Gorg & Marjory, the Trash Heap

Have you considered reporting it to MainRoads to sweep up?

Attempt to try and get the topic back on track.

A pot hole or a bolt or rock can cause an accident. A lady in WA I think it was, came off an electric bike and was killed in the fall apparently hitting a pot hole or debris. This was a single bike accident.
Passing someone and concentrating on the manoeuvre can detract a persons eyes off the track.
Good thing no one seriously hurt.
What gets me is I know of a certain spot, leaf covered, and manage a skid there every time, never seem to get the speed down even at around 5 kph still too fast. :)
