Group ride Busselton

Postby Clintoo » Fri Jan 16, 2015 3:55 pm

I'm heading down to busselton next weekend. Im trying to decide on which bike to take, MTB or road bike. I don't think I'm going to be allowed to take both.

are there any weekend group rides down there?

cheers

I know the Fat Duck has some weekend road rides (or they did a couple of years back when I was there).... pretty sure there was a bike shop in Dunsborough that organised a ride as well, depending on where you are staying. I would start by call the Fat Duck.

You can always ride on your own as there are plenty of good rides to do that don't take much thought.

I have a few friends who ride with Fat Duck. They have regular weekend rides.
There are some amazing rides in the hills just south of Dunsborough. Quiet hilly roads with great scenery.
Theres also the iron man course which runs along the coast of Busselton.
These rides are easy to find on strava.

Dunsborough Bike Shed. Rides on Sat are 60+km flat generally. Tues and Thursday 40+km hilly then a coffee.
Check their website for details of where to meet and when.

Great group of locals always welcoming to tourists...

thanks for the replies.

Im thinking it might be the road bike, as it will take up less room. I had thought it better to go with some people that know the better routes. plus down on those country roads I would rather ride in a bigger group.
