3 or 5 Dams
Postby Scott233 » Sun Jan 25, 2015 4:38 am
I'm looking for someone to join me in the 3 or 5 dams challenge.
Would prefer to just do 3 dams, I am fairly competitive and would like to find someone that could hold 30kph average minimum for the ride.
I'm 25 and ride regularly.
Anyone interested then let me know.
Thanks, Scott

I had my partner pull the pin today. We are both paid up so he will need to sell his and Jersey. I can hold 30-40km normally around town @43 years young , however after doing the Dams last year you won't be sitting on 30kmph for the 147km.
If you are interested in teaming up and training up let me know. There is a group of us going as pairs ,so there good support, and drafting to be had

I managed over 30 last year with relative ease, just remember to check the Garmin is still on after lunchSith1 wrote:Hey,

When I said average I mean 30kph average for the ride. Not minimum of 30kph speed for the entire ride.
CXcommuter I could be interested in pairing up. I do all solo rides apart from some very slow ones with the brother in law every now and then.
Maybe one day in the future tee up a hills ride around the 3 dams loop or something similar?
Thanks

If you can ride at such a pace Scott233 you should consider 5 dams- it is a true epic, more about survival and pacing than 3 dams. And remember both rides can be done anytime for free. Unless you want the jersey, then a 5 Dams Jersey has more street cred
As for riding Scott- I won't be doing 3 Dams officially again- but happy to ride (I head out NOR with Malaga Cycles on saturdays)

Going to run the 3 this year with a group of 6-8 and see what sort of time we can achieve stopping only to take on water.

I saw that also on monday, missed it by about 4 inches I reckon.chuckchunder wrote:Just a heads up if you're riding from Canning Dam towards Albany Hwy, there is a pothole just before the Churchman Brook crossing now about eight inches in diameter and four inches deep. Hit it at 50+km/h according to the GPS on the weekend, and it cost me a tube and a computer : (
