Hi All,
Hopes for a speedy recovery for the person on the MTB hit by a hatchback on Curtin ave this arvo around 4:30. Ambluance were in attendance and a few boys in lycra were hanging out asssisting. I went past well after the crash so dont take my word on events leading up to it > looked like the car possibly swerved into the shoulder cycle lane? This happens a lot on this stretch, cars and trucks just dont seem to be able to stay in the traffic lane. MTB propped up against wall appeared to be in at least two pieces.
Stay safe y'all

Saw that - couldn't work out who was down. Cudos to the lycra pair then!Trucker Jord wrote: looked like the car possibly swerved into the shoulder cycle lane? This happens a lot on this stretch, cars and trucks just dont seem to be able to stay in the traffic lane.
Rumble strips or concrete curb are needed. Cheap, easy but not in MRD's vocabulary. Yet.
A bit of education and enforcement wouldn't go astray - along with a little "look left before you move left" education.

I assist with the education Actually got an apology from one guy a couple of weeks ago. That however was tempered by another driver in a 4WD who just couldn't work out that he should stay in his lane. It took the front passenger (partner?) a few attempts to help him learn a real basic driving skill.Thoglette wrote:A bit of education and enforcement wouldn't go astray - along with a little "look left before you move left" education.
