Riders south of the Narrows may be curious about a generator connected to a whole lot of gear that looks like it came out of a NASA catalog.
FYI it is being operated by a PhD candidate of Curtin Uni. Her thesis is to do with air quality and health.

Did she elaborate on why that location was chosen?
(I don't have a problem with it, just curious)

Seems odd to connect a generator to air quality equipment, locally polluting the air.

PhD candidates are not chosen for their stupidity.nitestick wrote:Seems odd to connect a generator to air quality equipment, locally polluting the air.
They are using a very long extension chord and the generator presumably is being sited to the leeward as it's location is not always the same.

I read this an immediatly thought you were referring to a rare use of the granny gear to get over the bridge after riding along the flat PSP

That particular gear seems to get used by people who insist on screaming past you just before the bridge, only to hold you up as they struggle up the alpine like gradient of the ramp - I can only assume they have access to a different level of gravitational force than I getas7431 wrote:I read this an immediatly thought you were referring to a rare use of the granny gear to get over the bridge after riding along the flat PSP
On the original subject, we're quite lucky that we get the wind blowing onto the freeway usually - I certainly notice the difference in air quality if it's coming off the freeway.
