Two Tailwinds ! Yeah! MIDLAND is the #1 Cycling location.

http://www.weatherzone.com.au/wa/perth/ ... d-forecast" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So I did some quick digging - and found these -
In the morning - http://www.bom.gov.au/clim_data/cdio/ta ... 34.9am.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and in the afternoons - http://www.bom.gov.au/clim_data/cdio/ta ... 34.3pm.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This means I get mostly tailwinds in the morning, and an even stronger likelihood of tailwinds in the afternoon. Strong ones too.
So it left me thinking, thank goodness I live in Midland - I mean, I didn't plan it that way, but it's nice to get a lot of tailwinds... How many others here benefit from that?
The overall summary, it's better to live NE, Then E Then N. if commuting. Worse directions are SW ( eg, Freo to Perth ) then south, then west.
Regards
David.

feel a little guilty at times, but that quickly evaporates on the day when the world is backwards and there's a 3pm easterly.
I think in Perth if you want to be the strongest cyclist you can be and you work in the city, live South-west of the CBD.

It was quite a while ago, but during the 5 years I worked in Midland it was never NoR.
But maybe it has been moved.

Anyway, yes, it's one of the few ( maybe the only? ) benefit of cycling in Midland...
Well, unless you particularly like an extra-dose of adrenaline dealing with people trying to run you down as they impatiently overtake in the morning.

Should look into getting a tax refund, because when you drive/ride over the Guildford bridge into Guildford you SoR same as Midlandcj7hawk wrote:Correct. Midland is SoR, but it's North of Perth. Still kind of weird that even Guildford is NoR, but Midland is SoR. That really sucked when it affected what tax area we were in.

But it is not always the case, storms bring very strong NWerlys and SEs which can also be common. I do believe it is all part of commuting, sometimes weather conditions are terrible sometimes not. The wind in Perth is a big PITA. But that is the way it is.....
