Bicycle swap meet Saturday 19th March 2016
Postby Quicksilver » Mon Feb 08, 2016 6:52 pm
Hey guys,
The city of Vincent are holding their bicycle swap meet again, and the last 2 I went to were awesome!
Taken from the city of Stirling's website -
Want to sell some of those pre-loved bike parts or keen to find that elusive shiny part for your steed?
Join us at Barlee Street Carpark, on the main strip of Beaufort St, in Mt Lawley
Apart from some amazing bargains, this year we will also be exhibiting some sensational historical bikes as well as some classic restored road bikes.
The swap meet will run 9am – 12pm!
Sellers
Sellers are able to set up from 8am and the entrance is at 590 Beaufort Street.
Stalls are a standard car bay size (6 x 3 metres) - consider bringing a shade structure.
Please note - the car park space is limited. It is preferable for sellers to park elsewhere so as the public can move freely through stalls.
You must register your interest for a seller’s spot – it’s only $10

Noob question, do people sell just parts or whole bikes? Are things prices to move or is it a bit more "premium"?
When you are driving your car, you are not stuck IN traffic - you ARE the traffic!!!

From the past few I've looked at...parts and whole bikes.
Some people will have trailer loads of stuff, others just have a few boxes of bits and pieces. Mixed bag of vintage stuff and newer stuff.
I guess like any swapmeet you come across, people will outline their price, no harm in making an offer though.

Great event! Attended the October Bike Week installment as a seller for the first time last year.
Really happy with the event and I was happy with myself that I left with more than I came with ...... I could even afford a pub lunch with the proceeds afterwards
Probably won't be selling this March due to a change in circumstance but may plan more strategically to do so in October.
Go along and hone your haggling skills for/from travels in S.E. Asia. Just4tehhallibut & I had to even nudge a couple of eventual buyers to make offers after faces were pulled at initial asking prices. Some great swaps later in the day with other sellers.

I have a mountain bike I want to sell but that's all. Not sure if worth taking down.

I came, I saw, I bought a wheel... busy but not as many buyers as the October '15 one methinks. Still, good fun, much nicer weather and plenty of familiar faces
