Bikeforce Joondalup does a number of group rides on a Saturday, I think, with early starts. They range from short and relatively slow to longer and faster. The easiest is something like 30km at 25kph but I have never been on one so can't comment on it further but presumably other bikes stores do similar?

Hi Foz
How slow did you want to go and for how long mate. I could probably do a ride with you and could maybe get a few friends together, just depending.
I have been getting my fitness up by doing quick (15 - 20km) loops on the psp's next to the train lines. I do that alone, but with some headphones in listening to radio, maybe you could try that for a couple of months to get your average and fitness up and then jump on to some regulars ?
All the best mate and hope you get some good results dealing with your Diabetes

Most bike shop have rides on Saturday mornings. My LBS (local bike shop) has 4 groups Saturday morning from 25kph over 30km to 35kph+ over 60km (unfortunately in Rockingham).
So best advice speak to you local shops and see what is available.

Hi and thanks for the replies..Worzel XIX and Nickobec,
I have been riding on PSP by railway line, go a little further each time.
I generally start off in one gear..for a week 65inch, then progress a gear a week..ie next week 69 inch so forth..spinners are winners.
Also use a MP3 player to take mind of cycling or the pain for a few weeks.
Will keep that up solo for awhile, never go to bike shops..
Used to really enjoy the river loop..
cheers

As said before, most bike shops do group rides of different speeds.
Group rides are a different way of riding and i believe take more conertration. I would get my riding skills up before dipping my toe.
i also live in Morley, unfortunately the closest PSP is about 5 km away at Bayswater train station.
Shops that do rides are Malaga cycles, Alexander drive, Cyclemania on charles street North Perth and Elite cycles in Highgate on the corner of beaufort and Newcastle.
Bikeforce Morley, and Avanti cycles in Morley may also do rides but i can't confirm.
Group rides are about 40km typically.
Hope this helps.
