I now have two 27" wheels with dents (one steel, one alloy) and am out of spare (hooked) rims.
Does anyone know of a shop which can remove flat spots from rims?
There's a very specific tool used for this work & you either have one and the skills to use it or you don't.
Otherwise I'm on the hunt for some new rims
<edit> yes I'm going to ring Mercer cycles </edit>

Hi Thoglette,
The address is:
Unit 18, Level 1, Business Foundations,
Knutsford St, Old Fremantle Prison,
Fremantle, Western Australia 6160
Googlemaps: https://goo.gl/maps/XhdpK9FWPwQ2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We're open this easter long weekend by appointment. You'll need to call in advance as the 'prison' gates into the Business Foundations building are closed on weekends and public holidays.... but I can let you in on arrival.
We also stock a number of 27" rims.

Its probably a bit more bling than the rest ofthe bike is used to but given the last set of machine-made cheap wheels lasted less than a month I'm more than happy that money on a properly constructed wheel is money well spent.
As I'm up to my armpits in alligators it may be a while before I get it back on the
