Will need caution there though... I've seen quite a few near accidents on the dual-lane shared path on the Perth/Midland PSP in Perth where it crosses access-paths to car parks as drivers don't know which direction to look in before gunning the engine and shooting across the road to get into the car park above Perth central station.

1. it stops a block east of Milligan street and doesn't connect to the PSP. I've declared that all the area around Perth arena a "shared space"
2. it won't connect to anything East of William street.
Having said all that it's MUCH better than nothing

TLDR: Put a 100m cycle path in front of your building and you get another green star.

If that's what it takes to get them built....dmwill wrote: Put a 100m cycle path in front of your building and you get another green star.

Will we be able to use the new cycle lanes on William St to connect to the existing ones on Roe St?
Note, the original plans for the Perth City Link project was to have cycle lanes on Wellington St itself. They somewhere got lost in the project and we know have these bike lanes where you have to stop at every minor road that go into the Perth City Link area (ie King St etc). There is no consistency in what is being provided as in the case of the recent Barrack St lanes, they are on the road.

..shared paths which will be much preferred by the casual cyclist.rolandp wrote:Note, the original plans for the Perth City Link project was to have cycle lanes on Wellington St itself. They somewhere got lost in the project and we know have these
Meanwhile we get to play in ALL the traffic lanes (instead of banished to the bike lane), which at the usual CBD pace (<40kph) I'm more than happy with.
I need to check whether bus/taxi/bike lanes have a "cyclists must use" clause like bike-only lanes.

And a turn to the right.
Queue at the kerb with the peds.

A simple bikes-only gap in the median strip would have been so much better.Thoglette wrote:It's just a jump up the kerb.nachoman wrote:King St northbound at Wellington St. Please explain....
