Now the work begins.

Postby citywomble » Sun Mar 12, 2017 4:02 pm

In the words of the new premier "We start work tomorrow".

We now know the key promises and policies that should underpin how we should work to hold them accountable to, ensuring that Labour delivers.
As part of a safe cycling plan, all new Metronet stations will be constructed with bike storage and end-of-trip facilities to deliver world-class public transport and jobs. Grants for local councils will be nearly doubled to guarantee a consistent approach to cycling infrastructure and the Bike Boulevard program will be extended by investing an additional $3 million a year from 2018-19. The Road Safety Commission will be tasked to undertake and independently assess a two-year trial of safe passing rules that will be consistent with those used in other states, including the trial of a 1m safe passing distance in speed zones of 60km/h or less

I hear they're planning some kind of wide-path for bicycles, and they're going to attach them all in tandem configuration, then 2 wide... Some kind of "Bicycle Trainline" - ;)
