Metre Matters Cycling Gear

Postby rolandp » Wed Jun 07, 2017 10:29 pm

From WestCycles Facebook
We need your help! The McGowan Labor Government has committed to the introduction of a 2 year trial of Minimum Passing laws but we still need to communicate to and educate the wider community of the importance of giving space to cyclists.
In collaboration with the Amy Gillett Foundation we have designed a range of riding kits available for purchase. Produced by Champion System Australia these kits will ensure our message gets out there but we need your support by buying the kit and wearing it! This is your chance to support the "Metre Matters" campaign.
Click here to place your order - all orders will be delivered directly to your door by Champion-Systems >> http://aucustom.champ-sys.com/teamstore/?0v3ntt340n9
But, the Labour Government has already promised:
A two-year trial of safe passing rules, including trialling a 1metre safe passing distance in speed zones of 60km/h or less. The trial will be assessed independently and will include an education campaign.
Will the cycling gear be more positive at enforcing the required distance, and if so, why didn't WestCycle undertake this years ago?

If you are keen for some gear, try the link above.

Dunno/ But it's a lot more expensive than bumper stickers.

A metre matters is barely visible on the design - if you are wanting a jersey as an education device I would have thought it could be much more obvious

That was my first thought when I saw the design ... they are not in my view taking matter this seriously at all and are just pretending to give a toss.

You will not even see that logo up where it is?
I think this is just a way to fund raise money for west cycle.
No Jersey is going to help the current situation in my opinion

I am not a fan of either Amy Gillett foundation nor Safe Cycling Australia, but their jerseys are much more effective in communicating a message.
