Annual "On Your Bike" tour of WA - multi-day supported ride

Postby Mububban » Mon Oct 02, 2017 2:04 pm

Has anyone done one of the Cycle Touring Association of WA (CTAWA) annual "On Your Bike" multi-day cycle touring events?

Apparently they've been running for 30 years. Rider numbers are limited to 130, they provide breakfast and dinner, you set up your tent each night and once packed up, your gear gets transported to the next site.
There's a sag wagon and bike mechanic available too.

$750 for a 9 day supported event seems very reasonable to me.

I may have to try and make it on the 2018 event so I can tick a multi-day cycle tour off my bucket list :)

I haven't (not my thing, preferring to do my own unsupported touring) but they are by all accounts very popular and you have to be quick to get a spot.

The 2018 route is around the Dunsborough region. Not the most exotic location (it's one of the few in WA I have been to regularly), but I'll still see if I can do it to tick it off the bucket list.
