"It's not just a bike, it's an extension of my legs, its an extension of me," says Danielle Loizou-Lake of her custom-made bike, which was stolen in a brazen break-in in Perth's southern suburbs on Thursday morning.

Mrs Loizou-Lake, a mum of two girls aged five and three, suffered a spinal-cord injury in 2002 and now lives with partial paraplegia.

While she can walk, she has no movement below her knees. It took almost three years and close to $8000 to engineer her tricycle to fit it to her body and posture needs. As a family with only one car she said she was lost without it.

She said she had heard reports the bike was spotted near Spearwood's Phoenix Shopping Centre.

The bike is pretty distinctive so please keep an eye out.
