Jindabyne overnight bike storage?

Postby avolve » Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:04 pm

I am looking at trip around Jindabyne for a few days, including an overnight hike of the main range (bikes are not allowed).

Anyone have recommendations-suggestions of where I might be able to store our bikes whilst out on the trail.

I might end up needing to pay for a nights accomodation just to keep the bikes safe — might also provide a good fall-back if we have to head back early for any reason...

A friend in Wollongong owns a unit in Jindy with a storage room.
She'd probably let you use it for free, or very little if its not occupied.
PM me for her number

There are two bike shops in town. Sacred ride and Gravity. Both are friendly. Sacred ride have a lot of rental bikes, and so have a reasonable amount of storage space. You could ask them for a favour.

You could contact jindabyne cycling club. I am sure they would have someone with a spare spot in their garage http://www.jindabynectmc.com.au/

You could also try the Jindy notice board facebook page

G'day. Bikes are allowed, they are just not allowed to be ridden on walking track in the Main Range Wilderness. Bikes can be ridden on the service roads throughout Kosciuszko National Park. On the Main Range's walking tracks, cyclists can hike-their-bikes or carry them, if you have the suitable webbing on your back pack. Bikes can be ridden on the Summit Road towards Mount Kosciuszko until reaching Rawson Pass. At Rawson Pass you can lock your bike at the bike racks.
