it is, and to be fair the seller did state " I dont know what its worth.... So my 1500.."
but then buyers have just paid over $400 for an old headset, and $235 for a bottle cage and some old bottles.

And my regular Sunday ride, the coffee shop owner does custom roast his beans in a bread maker with heat from a heat gun, he does store the roasted beans in jam jars, it is almost a hole in the wall, his normal way of making coffee is by syphon, but in summer he does a wonderful cold filtered version. And he is a true polymath. I have left him my Smiths Empire pocket watch for a service.
That is reality for some of us. However I would not buy that bike.

When I was in Tibet two years ago, I did not recall seeing any coffee being grown, let alone harvested. We were warned to refrain from coffee so we could better acclimatise to the altitude.

I've been looking for a Dutch road bike (Gazelle/RIH/Batavus whatever) for some time now and then I found this!
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SINGLE-SPEED ... 419d18a91f

Great I thought... until I read the description....
(Nearly wrote 'destruction' there.. Freudian slip possibly)
<quote> GEAR BOSSES AND DERAILLEUR HANGERS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. <quote>
Not only shouts but sounds so pleased with themselves as well....arrggghhhh....

I think I've chatted to this bloke years ago and he's a pretty serious collector and I got the impression he was a mate of Greg Softley's. Is it worth asking what happened?

True, but not uncommon from that period, people tended to use what worked. The 'groupset' fad is fairly modern (well in my terms anyway.. )

But being a 1970's bike and looking at the era of the parts I would hazard a guess that it originally had early generation Dura Ace

Good point, I missed that. I must admit anything that is roughly in the right timezone and looks right tend to pass as OK with me.

Looks like one of the Clamont badged Miyata 1000s - a beautiful touring bike.

I always thought 3 Stars had the stars running straight up and down not on a diagonal
