Your just young. I remember checking those out in Brian Pages cycles up at Toowoomba 25 years ago.bychosis wrote:Weirdo Cannondale vintage MTB with wordy description and excellent photos
Funky it was but not a great design. Prone to cracking and I think the rear suspension was a falling rate. So it bottom out easily. No forks available then either, hence the flex stem. I think the Rockshox RS-1 became a available to the masses the following year.

Not that young, just missed these by a couple of years! My first 'proper' MTB was about a 1993 model I think.singlespeedscott wrote:Your just young. I had a girvin flexstem on a rigid bike and it was a quite affordable and effective device for removing shock from the hands which used to give me a lot of finger pain after long dirt rides. It had a weird feel at first as the handlebars kind of rotated forward slightly on bigger bumps. Eventually better things came.

Bit of a mystery bike I reckon. Earlier than 60s. Repainted maybe? Track, road or in between?
Lovely chrome lugs and line work.
Steep starting price tho.

Did anyone buy this? Silly bike but well specced. Worth that price for the cranks. Also M737 XT!bychosis wrote:Played with Google a bit and found it has a flex stem rather than front suspension spits kinda a dually and could be running XT gear with ritchey cranks and brake levers.ldrcycles wrote:Weird is quite the understatement .bychosis wrote:Weirdo Cannondale vintage MTB with wordy description and excellent photos

Eagerly awaiting the extra photos to see why they think this frame is worth the extortionate amount requested!

Why do sellers bother listing before they've managed to photograph the goods?!?

I was very close to, but frame was too small. And really don't need another small project bike.bychosis wrote:Weirdo Cannondale vintage MTB with wordy description and excellent photos

Damned expensive for just the frameset, although it is "di2 compadable" .

VERY nice Condor tourer! Another 5-6 cm on the frame size and I would have been up for that one.rangersac wrote: Nice Condor tourer

They must mark it up for the brand.Good money if you can get it I 'spose.ldrcycles wrote:Damned expensive for just the frameset, although it is "di2 compadable" .
I haven't seen any cheap Pinarellos lately but I haven't searched far.
How much is a brand worth

A colleague purchased a Pinarello Dogma frameset via AliBaba a few months back for $600-odd. Some of the finishing was a bit ropey so I doubt it you'd not notice it was a knock-off standing next to the real thing.koen wrote:They must mark it up for the brand.Good money if you can get it I 'spose.ldrcycles wrote:Damned expensive for just the frameset, although it is "di2 compadable" .

I wish my old 'Satellite' looked that good, it's a similar style and vintage
but built in Sydney (by Slim Ward) rather than Melbourne. It still has its
original paint etc though, so is naturally a bit time-worn.
I'm inspired to try that style of 'bar on the Satellite, and it'd look more
age-appropriate, too. Currently fitted with early Jap alloy drops.
