Not in Australian dollars  . Maybe 800 novelty dollars made from old carpet off cuts.

The starting price is very hefty, and the BIN is just as silly as this comment in the description- "It is built very lightweight - for a track". Yep those really look like track angles to me  .

Hello ldrcycles, The pressed steel brake bridge and the 50's/early 60's angles tell me that it's
an entry level frame, known last century as a club racer. When I started racing in 1967 they where
a common sight around the amateur cycling clubs and were used on the track and road.
Usually by under 16's (sub juniors).
I agree with you, re the starting price is a bit heavy. I might stick it on my watch list. Re-listed at the right start price
I might just have a go, just for the frame and that Bell saddle.

Cheers

That was the very one that I had, same colour and size by the looks of it too.

I lent it to a good mate of mine and he went flying around a corner riding round the lake and front ended it into a bollard........... gonzo'd the forks down tube and top tube. A very nice riding bike I thought.

I've got exactly the same colored frame hanging in my shed as well, similarly there is a crease behind the head tube in both the down & top tubes, but forks are fine. Been meaning to toss it onto a scrap metal pile to clear space.

I believe it was $150 before. It still is at a decent price, although not as cheap as it was initially.

There was a busted one of these dropped off at the Hobart Bike Kitchen a while ago, looked like the lower head tube lug became disconnected and the upper lug subsequently sheared in half. Apparently the fella who dropped it off was riding it at the time and received some significant injuries when the bike collapsed underneath him. If the frame's still there next time I visit, will try to get some photos. As a result of seeing this, I'll be steering clear of any early lugged carbon.

Interesting bit of gear. Badged as a De Grandi so maybe from the Newtown shop. Apart from the bike shop stickers it also has a Haden sticker, a name that popped up here the other day as the maker of fork crowns, Reynolds 531 tubing and Nervex engraved into the BB. The seller seems to have over looked the obvious dating telltales and maybe it's a good buy for a fair bit less than he's asking.

Just noticed he has another bike for sale which he reckons is from Canada. It's frame is made from Champion tubing, looks a cut above the average and has some reasonably rare bits on it for $55. A good buy if you live nearby.

That is hands down the worst spray job i've ever seen. Why would you stop with the tyres and saddle half covered in splotches of paint and think "yea that looks great"?

CX Alan. I think I'll go for this one, and hopefully it doesn't get too expensive.

what a douche.

i think a respectfull new owner would do more with it than let it sit and rust- doing nothing to a bicycle doesnt always translate into "respect", at least new owner will respect it more than current owner ( who loves it so much that they are selling it on gumtree after letting it rot for a while) we have all seen what a bit of respect for a pushbike looks like - just go back and look at the builds and restorations that have been done. Thats real respect.

im sorry but im inclined to agree with Munga somewhat.....douche indeed.
steel is the real deal.
