My recent build. Refurbished and built up with full Shimano 600 tri colour. I’m thinking a new post and saddle may be needed. And I have been told the decal on the top tube is not in the right place.

^ Nice. Is that Leggaro of Ken Evans fame?

Black Concor Supercorsa would work nicely.

Ah yeah, I see what you mean: https://www.instagram.com/p/BF2nsCPiwZW/?tagged=leggaro

Thanks for the link, I should have loooked for those photos a few days ago.
Yes, it’s a ken Evans leggaro. Pantographed seatstays, not sure what tubing it is though.
I will have a look for a concor.

Just picked up this little beauty I'm looking forward to learning about. First retro ride, no brifters is intimidating.

Nice looking bike Milpool, I think you'll find the aero mount dt sticks are awesome, and you'll get used to them very quickly. Haven't used the Shimano 600s in a while, but have some SunTour Symmetric which mount similarly.

Thanks 10speed, I took it for a quick lap after work, they will take some getting used to but it's fun. I would like some regular pedals first, make it stop a bit better, probably redo the bar tape, then some new tyres down the track but it already feels nicer than the borrowed entry level Azzuri thing I was riding, nice and smooth.

From my googling I think it's a re-badged Miyata 912. Here's some pictures from today;

Definitely a Miyata, not a Geoff-built Clamont. Still a very nice ride.

Check your handlebars. That RHS drop is bent inwards. It's not just the angle of the photos, I don't believe. Replacement bars are cheap.

+1, new handlebars need to be right up near the top of the to do list.

I picked this up a few weeks back with the intent of path racerifying it - but its too nice, so it got some white tyres, and a saddlebag, and i'm loving it. So is Mrs 2Shoes, to the point where she's decided it's hers....

Image

i subsequenty picked up an odd old indian thing to path racerify, the twin tubes and the geometry were perfect.
This is when I got it, it's been stripped to individual bits, vintage stem and bars, leather saddle, 700c rims with white tyres, just need to weld something between the forks to mount sidepull brakes and i can put it back together - got a coat of paint on it today .
Will post more as it develops.

Nice art.
And a new meaning of "bullseat". :)
ID please? What ID? My seat tube ID is 27.2mm or 31.6mm depending on what bikes I ride today.thanks...

Also picked up this Dutch thing, can't decide to restore or cannibalise - popular opinion is resto.
Got the wierdest bottom bracket - 2 cups that spin, a big thread that rotates with a locknut, chainwheel and right crank one piece, cottered other crank.
Most odd.

Hmm interesting.. check to see if you have an internal gear in the bottom bracket.

FB market pickup. Got it more on a curious whim, but turns out to be in good condition, but needs a good clean. Fit is pretty close at 59.5ST and 56.5TT. Reasonable 600 tricolour (brake levers are a little ratty but I have some others somewhere), Sugino SP-KC 'ruler' seatpost at 27.2 diameter, Velocity Deep V rims with not much wear. Gonna clean it up and ride it as is.

^ Nice Jim. Any idea what the tubing is?

That's the straightest curved fork I've ever seen!

I asked for a few extra pics to check nothing was bent prior to going out there (I didn't want to over-invest for a 40 minute drive!) I was a little suspicious about the TT and DT behind the head from some of the early photos, so asked for the up and under shots. Showed no damage. Same with the back and front of the fork. Toe overlap is not really that bad, considering, maybe it might brush the front of the shoes at 3 o'clock. Looks like there is more than enough room for 25's, perhaps even 28's.

No idea on tubing. Will get in touch with Albion Cycles and see what they can tell me.

With a 27.2mm seat post it should be half decent tubing, Reynolds 531, Columbus SLX or Tange Prestige.

Out of interest, what are the handlebars on it?

I don't think Frank ever built a frame. It was normally one of the other Sydney builders. He still runs the shop, so he may be able to tell you more.

Post some more pics of the usual spots and I'll see if I can work it out.

Neat details. Chain stay ends open, seat stay and forks filled. No serial as far as I can tell yet.

Nice. I've always liked Velocity rims. Had a set of these a while ago, liked them almost as much as I loved a set of CXP30s.

I’ve always found velocity rims to be a bit soft. I’ve dinged quite a few over the years whilst I’ve never had such issues with those from Mavic and Sun.
