WTS - Melbourne - Ken Evans road racer frame

Postby talstails » Sat Apr 23, 2011 9:22 pm

Hi for sale is a Ken Evans road racer frame in sky blue. It comes with the frame and forks and no other parts. There is a bit of rust on the forks and it says on the forks 753 on the sticker.

Image Here is the frame without the parts removed.

It has Ks engraved on the forks and below the seat post clamp. The frame size is 54-56cm. Looking for over $300. Make me an offer please.

Please make me an offer if interested - PM. Thanks.

Wow 300$ a full carbon frame (brand new) sold for 200$ however it only lasted 5 minutes, bet this one lasts a lot longer than that.

Yeah i offered $80 at 6.00am no reply .
If it had original paint and stickers $300 would be reasonable price thats what id like for my 60cm columbus one with original paint and decals.

Could you be more specific with the size. How about some centre to centre measurements for the top tube and seat tube
Cheers

just for transparency's sake, i spent about a dozen pms with the seller regarding frame size and packing etc, who finally tells me he/she has had offers of $300 on the frame, but if he/she 'decides to sell it for next to nothing' he/she 'will let me know'.
good luck with it. i am going to the shed to ponder, and i may be some time..

OP has listed that he/she would like 300 but is taking offers, so it abides by the rules. <drrubie>whaddayagunnado?</drubie>

If I had room and wasn't in the middle of at least two other projects I'd be paying $300 for that frame - that was my advice to the seller. Comparing it to a carbon one (or aluminium one or whatever) is like comparing apples and oranges - this isn't some factory churned out plastique fantastique. It's a well known aussie frame builder and assuming the frame is in good restorable condition will be worth a lot more built up and restickered.

I was going to say this, the op is withing his rights to have this posted, if you dont like the post, then please be my friend.

He was advised to put 300 as it seems to be set for a small audience of buyers.

How much would u take for it less the front forks. I have big plans for this bike. A set of chrome BMX forks & dragster style handlebars with small matt black wheel to go on the front & larger MTB wheel on the back. This thing is gona look insane when it's done.

I am resisting. It's calling out to me, but I cannot buy it or even contemplate it while the elan is hanging on a meathook in my shed.

I may require an intervention in the near future though. Maybe I can get sent to the place they sent Charlie Sheen?

Maybe swap him for some consideration and leave your smart arse comments out of this thread.

Please, im sick of seeing people posting insulting showtime in this thread, if you dont want to buy the frame, and dont have something constructive to say then dont say anything at all.

Good luck with the sale.

Ah cmon it keeps it up the top without the countless bumps from the OP.

I guess you could always change the forum to only the mods and OP can post comments in the for sale threads.

ill put my hand up and cop that one on the chin, but everyone who has posted a reply on this post deep down wishes they had this frame, me included even though i really know nothing about frames apart from how cool they can look. so please accept my apologies if i have offended with my attempts at humour, that was not my intention. :(
