Hello,
I have a few reports or some members having errors when sending private messages. The messages are still sent, but an error message is display.
It appears to be affecting just some members - email or PM me your member name as I try and find the culprit.

The culprit for the errors is tapatalk.
The forum databases are all clean and it appears that this error has been increasing in frequency.
For now I will include a prominent note on the right and retain this thread. If it becomes a massive problem I will deactivate tapatalk. Many of us are not big fans of tapatalk the quality and errors have been a constant bane - however it has established itself as a useful tool for using the forum on a smart device.
I have support requests running to get answers and resolve.
NOTE: if you get the error - your PM is still sent.

No response yet from Tapatalk. I am not surprised as their support has been terrible recently (even though they monetise and earn).
I have tried again, after which will have to look for alternatives to tapatalk.

That also explains why Tapatallk has been rubbish for browsing other forums too.
Shame. But fair call on the forum's behalf.

It will be a pity to lose Tapatalk as I do most of my forum browsing on my phone. If Tapatalk is deactivated what alternative is available with similar features?

I think he means it's the tapatalk plug in to phbb that's causing, not using tapatalkLG wrote:Well I don't use Tapatalk and just got the message replying to a pm

Correct - Tapatalk has been a fair solution and the current issue is specifically a result of the tapatalk functionality - and means certain functions are called (whether or not you are actually using tapatalk). In other words an impediment. I have just received feedback and will try their solution.
At the stage - despite the flaws, it has been useful and I have not researched alternatives.

Update to Tapatalk and it appears that this is now resolved.
Tapatalk is a bit of a worrying software so lets keep an eye on it. If it becomes a burden, out it goes.
