It's 74 from memory.

I'm doing a Fixie Imperial Century on it in about 6 weeks. We'll see if that gear is too big then I guess! It's fine for riding around town.

The old Malvern Star triathelete frame is slowly coming to life - I have decided to go with a custom paint job and will post a pic when it is finally done. I have also decided to go coaster brake and remove all hand brakes from the beast.

Just received my coaster brake wheel for the avanti solo - putting it on the bike and test riding will be my lunch time job.

New custom build rear wheel fitted and all the hand brakes removed - the Solo looks a lot cleaner now...

Took my lock nut tool with me when I took the beast out for a long ride, once the cog was locked up as tight as she go I adjusted the lock nut onto the rear cog and had a great smooth ride on the beast. Go the solo.....

Bike stripped down, honey coloured brookes England special saddle arrived, trying to source honey coloured bar tape at a reasonable price, and frame and forks dropped off for a paint job. Two pack automotive paint 2 colour and heaps of clear 2 pack on top, and I pick it up next week. I am also flipping the bull-horn bars over for a meaner look. Really looking forward to getting an after shot to show the finished beast.

My colnago master piu has been converted. Still need to change the pedals (I have some suntour superbe ones somewhere that will go on once I find them), remove the garmin sensor etc and fine tune the seat and levers positioning. All done from parts I had stashed away. I have another old Beretto frame that I plan to also build up as I discovered more than enough parts in the spares box.

I had forgotten just how comfortable this old girl was to ride.

Nice bike well done. I picked up my frame from the painters on Friday afternoon but decided to let the paint cure for a week before I started putting it all back together.

This was a circa 1982 Malvern Star Triathlete frame and I have been working on it slowly for the past 12 months.
Only things left to do as the money allows:

Brooks England honey coloured bar tape to match the seat.
Carry rack for the rear,
Mudguards front and back,
Custom sign writing or decals for the name.

Rides really well and worth the effort as far as I am concerned....

PS.... if you are going to do a build yourself it does end up costing more than going out an buying a beast already done

Pics of my 2 single speed/fixies first was a Cell to try while I built the second one.
Second one started life as a Repco Superlight Tri circa late 1980s and many hour
of work to this point. A beaut ride and still a work in progress.

Not sure I will do it again though - it ended up costing me a bit and I still have a couple of things left to do to mine.

The Cell looks very similar to the Harrier - I had one of those while building mine on top of an 1982 Malvern Start Triathlete frame.
