Looking at getting a high racer and the Performer High Racer looks OK.
Has anyone got one or has ridden one that would comment on them?
Seams to be a lot of their trikes getting around but not many of the two wheel varieties.

I've got a 700C Toscana, which is extremely similar to the High Racer. It's a really nice machine and very well made. I don't ride mine a lot, but it's a pretty nice machine when you're rolling.

They do look very well made, the trikes are great for the price point, the bicycle variety I hear good things about on the performer facebook page, they have some real kickers that came out this year, I think a titanium frame was an option. The drive chain looks like a better design in the bicycles also.
Don't Panic
And I don't know
Ride casual... Not to casual
They might snap out it's comfortable !!

I have a toscana 2026 which is fantastic. I have commuted on it almost every work day this year. Build quality is solid and I have not had any problems with it. I have upgraded to a rotovelo which arrived 2 weeks ago, so may consider selling the toscana as I don't think it will get used. I would recommend the performers as a good entry bike. I had never ridden a bent and did not want to spend too much money in case I did not like riding bent. Turns out bent riding is awesome and I will never go back to an upright.

If you are going high racer, you should look at Bacchetta's....
Great bikes, very docile/neutral handling, incredibly stiff so climbs well, easy to adjust, no messing with boom length as the seat move.....
The CA2 averages 29-30kph easily over 130-160km rides.....just riding steadily in aerobic mode.
I recommend you try one.....I love my CA2 and my Catbike Musashi is not getting used much nor is my Mango.....

Although now FF is no more who is bringing them in?Riggsbie wrote:If you are going high racer, you should look at Bacchetta's.....
I too love my Giro. Biggest (or smallest really) thing for me is that they were the only people making a bike small enough for me. And even then it is only just - I can't get the seat any futher forward. As I recline more the seat goes forward more (which seems wrong but that's what happens) and so I'm stuck at current level.
B have very helpful and quick service direct from the factory for parts, doubt you could get a bike or frameset from them though.

Petie is selling one in Canberra. Look on OzHPV for sale section.

There's a significant price difference between Performer HR and CA2. If OP can stretch budget to CA2, perhaps, should also look at Schlitter Encore.
Beautiful stick bike.

I have tried contacting them and no answer of any kind. I think they don't want to know about Oz at the moment or perhaps ever.

Another alternative is to get in contact with either Rose City Recumbents or Maria/Jim Parker at Cruzbike and see whether they can get in contact with John or Jacquie Schlitter for you. They all revolve around the same circles, especially Jim and Maria Parker. Jim and John have crewed for each other in distance events over the years.
