Postby Aushiker » Mon Dec 16, 2013 12:27 am

Another forums have a, post a photo of your recumenbent so why not us as well? So if you think it is a good idea please do post a photo or three of your recumbents ...

To get things rolling, here are mine. A LoGo Lightning P-38 and a Bacchetta Giro 20 ATT.

Nice Duck - how fast do you go in racing mode?

I thought I would post my steed here as well. Not really a recumbent, but I have nowhere else to post it really and figure recumbenteers will at least understand the bike.

Image

It's a RANS Sequoia, I think the only one in Australia, at least I can't find anyone with one and no dealer has ever sold them that I can find. Brought in the frame Christmas last year and built it up from there. No back rest, but I sit pretty much bolt upright on what is really very much the bottom seat off the RANS recumbents. Very comfortable.

On a straight with favourable traffic conditions, and depending on rider strength, we can exceed 60 km/h. However the average is more like around 45 km/h.

Very nice shot. You don't see the pure front on view very often.

Thanks Andrew.....was going quite quickly that day.......first 1 hour my average was 34.5kph (including stop/starts in traffic), the second hour it dropped to 34kph.....hit some really rough roads out near Moriac and it dropped to 33 and then stopped for lunch and finished after 150km with an average of 32.2kph.....

I'll post pics when I take some nice ones, though I think I might have picked up the ugliest bent around... an old bikeE. My first attempt to put my best feet forward.

Here she is:

An old piccy. Both trikes (Greenspeed) have had new PV panels fitted and the red one now has a fairing.

That bike-E is very interesting. Yes, sort of ugly, but also very intriguing. It looks heavy. Is it?

Surprisingly light. I haven't weighed it but according to the spec sheet it's a shade under 13kg. Seems to be about right.

Something I'm surprised about was that it was bought at a mainstream normal bike shop - from the place that's currently Pushys at Fyshwick. I wonder if Flying Furniture ever stocked them...

I recently had the time and some sacrificial bikes so i borrowed some dimensions from a friends bacchetta and welded up my own take on a recumbent bike.
http://s1146.photobucket.com/user/pauld ... 8.jpg.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
the seat is a glass/carbon one i made in a simple mold ,then stiffened with some poleurathane foam ribs and a bit more glass. the seat could be seriously lighter in carbon /epoxy. chassis is a high tensile diamond drilling section known as LTK60. :) very strong but onlt 2mm wall. forks are ex MTB rear set upis 2xbackstays from MTB rear suspension. cranks are /chainrings are MTB 3 speed. . the bike was going to be 26" set up but i chopped all the brakes off and converted to 700x23. :D the bike feels so much more responsive with the lighter wheelset. rear is 7 speed(early 1990's) wheels and brakes came from the last of the Centurion roadbikes.. it had shimano 105 hubs on alexrim rear and french wolber front :D
handlebars/were custom built from a MTB and an indi500. :o changers are MTB diore for the rear and a little friction changer for the front. derailleur unit came off an avanti Black Thunder
total cost was $80 due to the paint getting a clearcoat. and lashing out on some vinylcut stickers at $15.
its a great ride for socializing and on days when theres a headwind

here it in the rough
