Wendouree Ride, Ballarat, Feb 21

Postby stevenurseau » Sat Jan 23, 2016 11:27 am

Hi, just wanted to give notice of something coming up in Ballarat.

This ride is part of a fundraising venture for the Ballarat Fiona Elsey Cancer research centre with the $25.00 entry fee going to the charity. I've registered the team name Steve’s Slowpokes for a recumbent team, please register under that name unless you want to make your own team! Teams have up to 12 riders, with 4 riding at any one time. Website for Entry and ride details is https://ballaratcycleclassic.com.au/eve ... lake-relay" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Recumbent teams have entered in previous years, its always been fun.

Regards

Hi, Just a reminder on this, its coming up this weekend. Any More takers? Graham S. is on board but I haven't heard from others yet.

I wll be taking the plywood machine, there are a few photos of it here. http://modularbikes.blogspot.com.au/201 ... mmary.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My plan is to arrive in Ballarat Saturday. Some group recumbent riding is being organised for Saturday and bunkhouse accommodation is being organised for the Saturday night. Have yet to receive full details but will keep you posted.

I will give you a wave as you go past Steve, are you doing 100km?

I've done this ride the last couple of years-always a fun day, well organised and some great scenery. Link is here

Is there any suspension in the seat on the recumbent? Can the ride be a bit harsh?

Hi, Graham and I are just doing the lake relay which is very flat 6k laps of the lake starting from 9:15 I think. I promise to wave back.

There is no suspension on the seat, just plywood, and I have no troubles on a 30k round trip commute.
