Interesting bikes, not a huge fan of the super stretched look myself but mad respect for the fact that you've hand made these beasties. Good luck finding like minded souls in Bris, have you tried the ratrodbikes.com forums? Seems like the US based epicentre for these kinds of bikes. I too am devastated that there is not much of a scene for these bikes in Australia (outside Adelaide at least). Keep building, keep riding, have fun.

Thank, ill try ratrodbikes.com. That super stretch was a one off, made to carry a long board easier. Do you build yourself? Feel free to throw up some pics, get things moving. I post em on tinypic.com then copy the address for the raw image, keen to see whats happening in Aus. Cheers Cray

I'm yet to try my hand at building, my first excuse is that I don't have a welder, but the reality is that I don't have any free time with 2 kids and a bunch of other hobbies to keep me occupied. I'll definitely get around to it one day, I keep coming to places like these to keep me inspired.

I'm not sure if there are many Aussies on the ratrodbikes.com forums but there is definitely plenty of amazing builders. http://forum.atomiczombie.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is another place to check out, they sell plans for lots of weird & wonderful bikes and have a healthy following of builders on their forums. Good luck.

I use ebay for common bits i cant make myself, for more custom parts i use choppersus.com and you should try bicycledesigner.com.

Have fun.

Thankfull, my boss said e would buy me a new one if i do all a company welding, fix a tool here, weld a bodcat or excavator there. Just need to break it to him that i wanna up grade to a gas mig/tig, 1k :| . Im in limbo!

That sucks, I was looking forward to more progress pics. How thick is that plate steel you're using on the latest build? Frame looks beefy.

Its 9mm plate, the supplier was moving so i snatched it cheap as. Im glad those circles are being cut out, need to lose some weight. I think i have a mate with an plasma cutter. Good news though, i think im getting wayne back tomoz, so im gonna hook in this wknd and weld all the jazz ive been cutting in this week. Hopfully.

Metallon in Geebung cut out the circles in the 9mm plate steel. Cut with an Oxy, so fast, so glad i went there. Had them touch up my head tube with their lathe as well. Coming into a long weekend, i wish the forks had arrived, probs next week. Heading to Jubecustoms Kalvin Grove tomoz, to get another 4.25 wheel and maybe some other stuff, always the way. The axle and nut will not be seen from the sides.Image
