Hi everyone,
My Brompton folding bike is missing and I suspect it has been stolen. I am calling on you fellow riders for help in keeping an eye out.
Where?
I am from Sydney and moved to Australia from Holland 4 years ago. Couple of weeks ago started traveling, first in TAS, now in SA and moving on to WA shortly. We were here for the national Canoe Sprint championships at West Lakes regatta course and stayed right next to the course (100 Military Road, West Lakes Shore). From a geographical perspective this is on the other side of the lake from the West Lakes Mall and AAMI stadium; the beach side.
When?
Friday evening 18 March I suspect it was taken but didn't realize it until Saturday afternoon.
Bike details?
The bike has a black frame with the brand Brompton written in red letters (if sticker is removed letters are like below image). The frame number (2***60) is between the back wheel and the frame where the seat pillar can be stowed into. When the bike is parked on the rear rack (back wheel under the handling bar) the number should be clearly visible in the frame. It has a black folding basket at the front and a rear rack carrier with 4 tyred rollers. Little size wheels with a dynamo for lighting on the back wheel. Just below the M-type handle bars there is a sticker on the frame with the shop name where I bought it; Kemper fietsen in The Hague. It has 6 speed gears with 2 triggers. Official type is M6RN. In the folding basket was a Abus chain lock and a light grey $200 bike helmet, can't remember the brand.

I'm devastated as it is such a precious bike to me, am really attached to it, and I have such a history with it; riding pleasure and taking me efficiently from A to B often while commuting. I was so looking forward to using it while traveling. It is expensive and it is not the type of bike you can come by easily here. The police has made a case for it and who knows, it may be found. It is quite an unusual sight here in Australia so that will help. Any tips on recovering the bike are most welcome. Police indicated they need identification of person and/or address in order to follow up as the bike may be anywhere by now...
Many thanks in advance for your help, highly appreciated!
Cheers,
Mirjam

Wondering if you ever found your Brompton? Today this ad appeared on a Gumtree at $800 and suddenly dropped to $500. I’ve received no response to my request for the serial number. Oddly the B is described as 5 speed too.
