11 speed chain tools & chain whips...?

I know that Campagnolo has an overpriced (surprise surprise /s) 11spd chain tool, but do Shimano chains and cassettes really require 11 spd compatible tools?

You could use a single-speed chain whip if you wanted to, just wrap it around the biggest sprocket (which you should do anyway for maximum contact area).

Only thing I am not sure about are bladed straight pull spokes, but that is the least of my concerns right now

Any thoughts on using a 10 speed quick link on an 11 speed chain?

I wouldn't use a wider link though; may cause some issues with catching on the more tightly spaced sprockets leading to rough running.

As others have said, if you're concerned about the chain whip getting stuck between cogs or whatever, simply place it on the largest cog. Do mind your knuckles on the spokes though, specially if you have bladed/aero spokes

I've a bunch of chain tools (well a pile of multi tools and 1 proper chain tool) and never thought about the speeds until recently. But since all the chains I've broken have been 9 (or less) i was wondering if since I see lots of rumurs to 11 sp tools, I could see why they wouldn't work, chains haven't changed, just the width stuff, so the breaker would work the same.
I get the quicklinks wouldn't work (9/10/11)...
But also i never even considered it with my whip, don't 9, 10 and 11 speed with it with no issues (apart form operator error).
But anyway have imminent chain/cassette swap on the GF's 10sp stuff, so that'll get done soon, then onto my 11sp suff (about to hit 7K on the origianal chain and cassette) then the 10sp mtb (haha about to be 1500km on those)...damn gunna cost me $$$
